Geometric custom gunite pool with glass-tile sheer-descent water feature, white stacked-stone wall, and travertine deck built by J. Oliver Pools in New Braunfels, Texas
Portfolio · New Braunfels & San Antonio

Recent builds across Texas.

A look at pools and backyards we've designed and built — each one drawn around the yard it lives in, not dropped into it.

Our Work

Every backyard is one of a kind.

From new construction to full renovations, here are a few recent projects across the Hill Country and Bexar County. Different lots, different finishes, the same hands-on, firefighter-owned team from first sketch to first swim.

01 New Braunfels · New Construction

Deck & lounge

A crisp geometric pool anchored by twin sheer-descent waterfalls pouring over a deep-blue glass-tile wall and white stacked stone. A tanning ledge with in-water loungers steps into the shallow end, framed by travertine coping and a stamped-concrete deck that ties the whole backyard together.

Freeform pool with twin sheer-descent water features spilling over a dark blue glass-tile wall, with a covered patio and outdoor kitchen beyond, in Veramendi, New Braunfels
02 New Braunfels · Water Features

Veramendi.

A freeform pool in the Veramendi community, built around a raised wall of deep-blue glass tile with twin sheer-descent water features. The cool PebbleTec interior reads almost teal in the sun, with a wide travertine surround that opens onto the covered patio and grill.

03 San Antonio · Renovation

Woodlands of Camino Real.

A tired freeform pool and attached spa in this San Antonio neighborhood, brought fully back to life. We resurfaced the interior in a midnight Pebble finish, traced the steps and spa with iridescent glass-tile accents, and kept the original flagstone coping — a dramatic before-and-after on the same footprint.

Before renovation: aging freeform pool and round spa with dated plaster, dark water, and flagstone coping in the Woodlands of Camino Real, San Antonio
Before
After renovation: same freeform pool and spa refinished in a midnight Pebble interior with iridescent glass-tile step and spa accents, San Antonio

Clean lines, dark water.

A rectangular pool paired with a raised spa clad in black glass mosaic, spilling into the pool below. Herringbone-laid stone decking and matching stone columns tie the space to the home's modern farmhouse exterior.

05 Hill Country · New Construction

An edge that meets the hills.

Vanishing-edge custom pool with travertine deck, in-water loungers, and sweeping Texas Hill Country views under a canopy of live oaks
Vanishing edge of the pool disappearing into the Hill Country tree line, with travertine coping and a raised sun shelf
Vanishing edge
Raised bar-height sun shelf with travertine cap overlooking the vanishing-edge pool and Hill Country valley
Raised sun shelf

Set into a sloping Hill Country lot, this pool disappears at the edge into a valley of live oaks. A travertine deck wraps a raised sun shelf and in-water loungers, framed by a clean cable-rail line so nothing competes with the view.

06 New Braunfels · New Construction

From dirt lot to fire pit courtyard.

A raw, freshly graded hillside became a resort-style courtyard: a freeform pool with raised spa, a custom cut-stone patio in an overlapping diamond pattern, and a sunken fire pit lounge tucked behind stone planters for a private gathering spot with hill country views.

Before construction: graded dirt hillside behind a New Braunfels home, framed with temporary wood layout stakes

After construction: completed freeform pool with raised spa, custom cut-stone diamond-pattern decking, and a sunken fire pit lounge with adirondack chairs, New Braunfels

Sunlit water over a midnight-blue PebbleTec interior with a tumbled-glass step band, showing the deep blue-to-charcoal tones of the finish
Finish Spotlight

Midnight Blue PebbleTec.

A deep blue-to-charcoal aggregate that turns the water glassy and bottomless, with a tumbled-glass band catching the light at the step. One of the signature finishes we'll walk you through at design.
